Turn Off the "Aging Switch"

Yes, you read that title correctly! Our bodies actually have a protein that scientists have recently discovered called the “Aging Switch”. The scientific name for this protein is HMGB1 (High Mobility Group Box 1). This protein molecule actually triggers the release of toxic and degenerative cytokines, which generate inflammation in the body.

With the discovery of the HMGB1 protein or the “Aging Switch”, that initiated the discovery of elements found in mung beans and green tea that can actually turn off the aging switch, and extend life and slow down the aging process significantly. Both mung beans and green tea have been important components of traditional Asian cuisine and medicine for thousands of years.

If you’ve been following FountainOfYouthTV, you know I’m a big fan of consuming mung beans each day! Ayurvedic medicine (also called Ayurveda) which is one of the world’s oldest medical systems in the world, originating in India over 3000 years ago, already knew the importance of eating mung beans. Mung beans have held a very special place in Ayurveda. They have been used for thousands of years to both cleanse and heal the lining of the intestinal tract. They are considered to be so gentle that they are given as baby food! My granddaughter, Claire, loves mung beans! The discovery of the “Aging Switch” verifies this ancient Ayurvedic understanding. Studies found that mung beans contain powerful antioxidants in their seed coating. Scientists believe they have properties that help inhibit excess cytokine production, reduce inflammation, which turns off the aging cytokine switch. One study showed that mung beans could actually extend lifespan by an incredible 82 percent! Click on my “Mighty Sprouted Mung Beans” Blog to read more about this wonderful treasure from God! Check out our video "Sprouting Mung Beans" if you are interested in how to prepare them.

Green tea has been consumed in China since the 12th century for its many beneficial effects. We know today that green tea is one of the most prominent sources of plant polyphenols with anti-inflammatory actions.

We now know that chronic inflammation reduces the length of telomeres, the “living fuses” in our chromosomes that shorten with age. If we reduce inflammation, this may translate into a longer and healthier life.

If you suffer from Asthma, atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, heart attacks, strokes, autoimmune disorders, cancer, diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases, obesity, acne, and a host of other diseases, it’s time to heal our bodies and reduce inflammation. See upcoming blog about the top foods that cause inflammation.

Knowledge is the key to health and wellness. I’m always so amazed how modern science continues to prove what ancient wisdom has known for thousands of years! So take charge of your health destiny, reduce inflammation and add healthy years to your life by eating delicious whole, natural food that God placed on this earth for us to consume…You can do it!!

Peace and Grace, 💖

Suz
